Why does Italian food taste better the next day?
Q. Every time I make lasagna or some other marinara/cheese heavy meal, it tastes a bajillion times better the next day, after it's been chilled in the fridge and nuked in my microwave. Any idea why? If anyone knows the chemical processes at work, that would be extra cool.
Asked by sflalady68 - Mon Apr 21 01:15:24 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. When the meal has just been made, it is easier to taste each of the individual ingredients. When the ingredients have had more time to "marinate" together (i.e. overnight) the flavors are more mixed together creating a flavor consistency throughout the dish that makes it taste all the more wonderful!

My dog pooped in the woods and next day I saw orange mushrooms at the same spot?
Q. My big dog pooped on a dead branch the other day then next day I saw some mushrooms grew out of nowhere at the exact same spot, they were orange-ish like his poop. Can someone explain this to me please? Like what process was involved and stuff?
Asked by Sade - Fri Jul 25 13:00:10 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. LOL! See poop is a really good fertilizer. The mushrooms probably used various chemicals in the the poop to acelerate their growth. Plants also use animals for fertilizer. Some plants have fruits that have seeds that can pass through animal digestive system. When you poop the seed comes out. The seed now has its own pacakge of fertilizer (poop)

What can I do to have leftovers taste good at work the next day?
Q. I've made pretty good meals a few times now that are great at home the first night, but for some reason aren't as tasty the next day . what can I do to preserve flavor? also are there any foods that don't do well in the fridge or microwave?
Asked by ted_of_wildstallions - Mon Sep 22 14:41:10 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I usually add some spices or seasonings (after reheating) to give them some punch. Or you could also try altering the dish- like if you had leftover chicken & beans, you could roll them up in a tortilla with cheese. Any simple changes makes it in to a new dish so you'll be less inclined to compare it to the nice fresh one you had the night before. I hope I helped!

Why does alcohol make my body feel tingly the next day?
Q. Sometimes when I wake up after a night of drinking, my body has this tingly sensation in different areas. Like my arms and hands... It's almost like when your leg falls asleep and starts to tingle, but not as intense. Even my lips feel tingly and my top stomach abs will kind of feel like their tightening and releasing... So why is this and has anyone else felt the same feeling the next day after drinking?

How can I keep already-opened Pillsbury biscuits good til the next day?
Q. My boyfriend and I love those Pillsbury biscuits with layers that come in a can, but we can never finish all 8 of them in one meal, so I usually save them (uncooked) for the next day. They never stay as fluffy and flaky, and shrink once they are out of the can, though, even though I wrap them individually with plastic wrap. Is there another way to store uncooked Pillsbury biscuits so that they retain their volume and flakiness?

A. singulair contains a drug called phenylanlanine which is used to prevent athsma attacks, this drugs effect is hindered if exposed to moisture or heat prior to use. it should be kept in a cool dry place and granules should only be opened immediatly prior to use.

It's the Nicotine...If you enjoy smoking cigars as I do, or would like to start to enjoy them...smoke on a full stomach...eat a burger or a steak...a meal with protein that takes time to digest...when you smoke on an empty stomach, all the nicotine gets into your blood stream with too much ease...giving you the headache. All the Best.

Why does the canned nacho cheese in my fridge turn into liquid the next day?
Q. I put some nacho cheese in the fridge and the thing is for some reason it turns watery the next day and I have to throw it out! What could be the reason? Also, what can I do to stop this? I know this sounds awkward but I get sick of throwing out nacho cheese everytime. It's a huge waste of money and nachos are sooo good.
Asked by DEiDei yeah un!!! - Wed Oct 8 20:05:44 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. if you are keeping it in a sealed container, then what is happening is the water in the nacho cheese is condensing and creating pools of water which you see and cause you to throw it out. the cheese isnt bad, you can tip the can over and drain the water out and still use it. or if you want it thickend again to use with dip, you can pour it into a sauce pan and heat it to a simmer. (microwave wont work) it will thicken up quickly.

What does it mean when an interviewer asks you to call them the next day?
Q. I went for an interview at a call center called GC services. The interview went well and the lady told me to wait out in the lobby and then she came back and said that the person who was supposed to come talk with me was busy with another interview and she asked me to call them the next day at 8am. What do you think this means? Do you think I have the job? If not it wouldn't makes sense for them to ask me to call them at 8am the next day.

What does this mean: "dead wood we could cut up in the night for next day's stemaning"?
Q. I had to keep a lookout for the signs of dead wood we could cut up in the night for next day's steaming.
Asked by Jordanian - Sun Jun 1 13:51:57 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Its from "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad The narrator is referring to keeping watch for wood that can be used as fuel in the steamboat they are on. In Chapter II he writes: I had to keep guessing at the channel; I had to discern, mostly by inspiration, the signs of hidden banks; I watched for sunken stones; I was learning to clap my teeth smartly before my heart flew out, when I shaved by a fluke some infernal sly old snag that would have ripped the life out of the tin-pot steamboat and drowned all the pilgrims; I had to keep a look-out for the signs of dead wood we could cut up in the night for next day's steaming.
